The card you have won't work on the SWT website, only the Stagecoach bus/Supertram one.

SOUTH Western Railway are encouraging their customers to stop using paper tickets and change to Smart Cards, which can be used online. The new initiative is part of South Western Railway’s. A colleague of mine has a season ticket which was purchased from South West Trains and is a Stagecoach Smart smartcard. The franchise has now switched to First MTR's South Western Railway. The season ticket on the old smartcard still works the ticket gates.
